Modern Equipment & Supply, based in Bristol, Pennsylvania, has joined the Manitou Americas dealer network.
Modern will represent the Manitou rough-terrain telescopic handler range, Gehl wheel loaders and the Mustang line of compact dirt and mini-excavator equipment in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
"We are proud to enter into a partnership with Modern Equipment," says Eric Burkhammer, eastern regional sales manager for Manitou Americas, Inc.
"Working together with Modern Equipment, we will ensure that equipment owners and operators have the best products and support to advance everyone's performance to its maximum potential."
"We are excited to have a partner in Manitou Group which shares our core beliefs of quality, value and integrity," says Rick Nelson, vice president and general manager of Modern Equipment & Supply.
The Modern Group Ltd. traces its beginnings to 1946 when the Modern Handling Equipment Company was formed to sell Hyster forklift trucks. The company grew steadily, acquiring dealerships and offering equipment rentals.
A holding company, Modern Group Ltd., was established in 1979 for all the dealerships and rental companies that this initial venture spawned.
Manitou joins several product lines, including warehouse products, standby power generators, rough-terrain forklifts, telehandlers, backhoe loaders, skid steers, excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders, carry deck cranes, snow ploughs and pushers, and ice control equipment.
The company serves Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Manitou Americas, headquartered in West Bend, Wisconsin, is the combined organisation of previous Manitou North America and Gehl Company activities in America.
