This week, we saw forklift safety highlighted on both sides of the Atlantic, with National Forklift Safety Day celebrated in the UK for the first time as it marked its sixth year in the United States.
Our newsletter this week reports on that event as well as some other safety issues. Along with that, there is a focus on skills and training this week. Training and safety are actually faces of the same coin - operator competence. If forklifts are to prove their value, they need to be operated safely - and operated skilfully.
This is a reminder that while much of our content looks at machinery, materials handling is really about human skills and efficiency.
That said, let's be safe out there this week - and every week.
