Manna House is raising funds for a replacement forklift |
Christian charity Manna House in Rincon is struggling to meet demand for its weekly food distributions as its forklift grinds to a halt.
According to assistant director Liz Quarterman, the charity's ageing machine is now on borrowed time after its last repair, and the group needs a replacement to keep up its activities.
Officials have located a refurbished machine to replace the current forklift, but it needs to come up with USD16,000 to purchase it.
The group that so freely gives to others is now asking for a lift of their own, according to media reports. "Everything that anyone does, whether it's pennies or hundreds of dollars, will help stamp out hunger," Quarterman says.
