The colocated shows of CeMAT Asia, PTC Asia, ComVac Asia and Industrial Supply Asia 2013 attracted nearly 80,000 visitors from 80 countries and regions over four days last month.
Held in Shanghai, the shows for intralogistics, fluid power transmission, compressed air and vacuum, industrial subcontracting and lightweight construction ended on 31 October and witnessed growth in display areas, exhibitors and visitors.
Over 2,100 exhibitors presented their products and technology over a display area of 150,000 sqm (1.6 million sqft.), with the number of trade visitors increasing by 11% from the previous show to 77,067 people.
"This year, we launched two premiere shows of ComVac Asia and Industrial Supply Asia, which perfectly meet the market requirements," says Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president of show organiser Deutsche Messe AG.
"Focusing on efficient production, the exhibitions along with PTC Asia, CeMAT Asia as well as newly planned shows of Battery Shanghai, Cold Chain Asia and LIFT SHANGHAI at a single place, has provided an ideal platform to showcase integrated solutions in demand."
CeMAT Asia 2013 welcomed a group of global leaders in system integration, forklift and accessories, conveyors, electric hoists, AGV, cold chain and material lifting including Dematic, Daifuku, SSI Schaefer, CSIC, BMHRI, NTI, Kenmec, Briam, Muratec, Siasun, Jungheinrich, Vita-Wheel, Goodsense, BYD, Noblelift, Ruyi, Cascade, Kaup, Ho Jin, Tungray and Dingneng.
The total display area of the show reached 37,000 sqm (398,265 sqft.), with over 490 exhibitors.
Alexander Oezbahadir, managing director of Jungheinrich China, was pleased with the show. "As an international professional exhibition for the logistics industry, CeMAT Asia is a good platform for a comprehensive display of our various products, and helps us to develop more business opportunities. We showed products and lots of buyers placed purchasing orders onsite."
Yunfu Chen, vice chairman of Zhejiang Goodsense Forklift Co Ltd, is already anticipating the next CeMAT Asia. "We will definitely participate in CeMAT Asia 2014 with (a) bigger show area and new products."
The premiere of an innovation-centred CeMAT Asia salon also offered a neutral, open and free exchange platform for business, industrial associations and media under the theme of forklift and system integration.
Concurrent with the exhibition, nearly 40 interactive activities like group visits, technical forums, purchase negotiation and buyer matchmaking were taking place. All information about the shows was sent to users via new media platforms like Wechat and Weibo this year.
"We are not just trading fairs or selling booths," Pech says. "The core task for us is getting to know the market demand, so as to build up a grand-industrial platform for showcasing clients' latest technology, products and services ... China is a huge market. We are concentrated in cooperating with our partners to nourish these shows."
The shows were organised by Deutsche Messe AG and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd, with the support of Chinese partners like China Hydraulics Pneumatics & Seals Association, China General Machine Components Industry Association, Federation of Logistics & Purchasing and Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. The next edition will be on 27-30 October, 2014 in Shanghai.
