Amazon's Carlisle warehouseA worker has been killed in a forklift crash at an Amazon warehouse in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
According to the Cumberland County coroner, Alex Carrillo, 22, died at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center after the crash.
The victim sustained “multiple traumatic injuries” in the accident.
Local media quotes an Amazon spokesperson saying Carrillo was doing "routine work", operating a "powered industrial truck" at a Carlisle facility, when another truck collided with his.
The company has expressed its sadness, saying in a statement that its “thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time”.
Amazon is conducting an internal investigation and working with officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration who are conducting a review.
