I have been involved in the Materials Handling Industry since 1988 when I joined Atlet as an Engineer, in the 17 years being with the company I progressed from Service Engineer through the rank of Senior Technician and on to Service Supervisor, the latter held for about 10years.
I moved to Linde Trifik , I was approached by them and joined them as Contracts Manager, unfortunately after 16 months Linde were restructuring and I became a casualty when the whole Contracts team and other positions became surplus to requirement.
Not being one to sit back and wait for a job to come to me, I went back to my roots, took my toolbox out of mothballs and went to work for a local bus company, this lasted for 10 months.
I joined Yale UK as an Aftermarket Manager / New Business Manager, once again due to a company restructure my position was made redundant, however new doors opened internally, I secured the position of Contracts Manager.
In July 2010 we were told that Yale UK had potential purchasers, August saw the acquisition of Yale UK by Briggs Equipment (UK) Ltd, all employees were transferred under TUPE, I applied for a couple of internal positions but, unfortunately, unsuccessful.
Through mutual agreement, I will be staying with Briggs until the end of October to assist in the smooth transfer of the accounts that I was responsible for to the new account managers within the Briggs organisation.
I am a resilient person with a lot to offer the right company, I am looking at all aspects of the Materials Handling and Associated Industries, whether it be in Sales, Service or Product Support (Traction Batteries, Attachments etc;)
