Discussion:
Old Yale

I just bought a '69 Yale G83P-060-CBS. I can't find much information on it. Does anyone know what oil to put in the power shift transmission? It looks like the fill and level plugs are on the front of the differential, or do you fill it in another place?
Thanks.

You're absolutely right, When my customers tell me that they didnt have anything to put in their radiator, I tell them, muddy water is better than nothing.

I can't fix stupid, but I can fix what stupid does.
I'm not sure what's in it now. I'm guessing Dexron will be ok, since I can't seem to find anything that tells me what's supposed to be in it. It is pretty low, so some oil should be better than no oil.

Is that what's in it now? We used HT-4. A 30 wt oil packaged under many names. I don't think the Dexron could hurt. Those old forklifts just don't ever know when to die!

Thanks. It looks that way to me too. I think I'll probably put Dexron III in it.

I knew that it was hard to find information about these, but I didn't know it would be that hard. I thought that someone here would have some experience with them.
