Discussion:
No forward or reverse

I have a Condor model 42L boom lift with a drive system problem. The lift is electric, not gas. Everything works as it should except the drive system. The drive system is basically the same as an electric golf cart.

The lift is giving us fault code 11. We've checked everything we know of and can't find the problem. We bought a calibrator (tester) to troubleshoot further but it reads everything is ok, so that's no help.

We checked the joystick with the calibrator, it tests fine. We held the level switch perfectly level, still no go.

I can't find anything that tells me what fault code 11 means (local lift repair shop for Condor says he never heard of code 11) We're out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks all.

I'm pretty sure the controller is a Sevcon but will double check. I was told someone checked all the switches but I'll be sure to check them again.

I'll also check the resistance on both motors. Are you referring to the second motor when you say to check "B"? Not sure what you mean by B.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you know what control unit is in the truck...Curtis maybe?
Does the lift have pothole bars that swing down...possible bad switch there...
On some curtis controllers code 11 has to do with motor shorted....

Check for motor shorted to frame. Disconnect leads from motor. 1 megohm resistance between frame and motor terminal.
Check for controller shorted to B. Disconnect motor leads from controller. 1 megohm resistance between motor terminals on controller and B.
