Discussion:
Linde H25D with Duetz, Transmission stripping issue

Working on a H25D. We have oil leaking from the seal behind the 3 dowled coupling flange on the transmission side, we have removed the engine and now the coupling flange is refusing to budge, we've had a puller on it but still no movement.

Is there anything else holding this in place? I can't see why it would need securing from the inside when a bolt holds it to the shaft.

**** Lindes.

Like they said you have to heat it up cherry red and use heayy duty puller. It actually goes on quite easy if you get it super hot. Make sure that once you put the new seal in you put cold wet rags around the shat and housing so you don't melt the new seal.

The screw is out, just can't understand why the flange would need to be so tight, it's quite ridiculous. But what do you expect it's a Linde!

Thanks for advise everyone.

As far as I understood you have the problem with the coupling flange P/N 5022307400.

It's mounted on the drive shaft (spline) and tightened with M10x30 heksagon head screw.

Do you have the problems with the screw?

If yes - the Loctite 270 is used there. Try to heat up the bolt.

If the problem is with removal of the flange from the shaft - you must heat it and then use the puller. Sometimes it goes hard.

From memory it is just a very tight interference fit. If you get it off you will struggle to get it back on again. My advice is to send it to Linde for repair.
