Discussion:
Starts then shuts down immediately

Looking for some help with my M80B electric forklift. We were running it for about an hour one day and then the next day it just died. Heard a click then it powered down. Got it towed inside to hook up to the charger, but it wouldn't take the charge. Filled up the battery with water, recharged again to the point where I could hear bubbling from the batteries, but after less than 20 minutes, the charger turned off saying charge complete. I tried again, again the batteries had bubbling sounds but in less than 10 minutes the charger stopped.

When I get on the forklift and turn the key, I hear it energize but then it immediately just turns off after 1 second. Any help is much appreciated.

I bought it about 1 year ago from a forklift company who said the batteries were in good condition. It gets very light use, less than 2 hours per week.
