Clark Y20 2024:
Steering Column Rebuild

Looking for info on a steering column rebuild for my 1965 Clark Y20 2024 Forklift. Any info on that or other part rebuilds for this lift would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Drew

Also want to fix the Gas and break pedals. I have replaces the master break cylinder along with the 2 front brake cylinders but there's a leak in the line somewhere and just haven't fixed it yet. The linkage in the gas pedal has never been connected and just wired for idle. Just wondering if there is any repair manuals out there of any kind. Thanks!

The steering stopped working the other day so I took the steering assembly off. The steering Shaft wants to "unscrew" when turning the wheel in one direction and the other it was "****" back down and then turning the wheels. Once I took the assembly off and opened the gear housing I found the thrust bearing in pieces. But not sure how that bearing would keep the shaft from wanting to "unscrew" from the ball nut but I still need to disassemble the whole thing yet might find more damage. But having trouble getting the Pitman arm off. I have found a company that has a rebuild kit for this steering gear assembly made by Saginaw Gear. What I'm unsure of is the process of disassemble and the steps for the rebuild.

What symptoms are you having that a rebuild is required? Not sure parts are going to be available through forklift channels for a machine this old.
