Hello, I have seen this happen when the carriage bearing blow and lodge a sliver of metal or bearing in between a roller or another bearing. I have also seen some fragments get lodged under the bearings in the lower part of the mast. I would raise as high as I can, get close & personal and take a look - safely of course
