One characteristic of Lithium batteries is their relatively light weight, which is not an advantage in forklifts if the battery is designed to be part of the counterbalance.
Fast charging is an advantage, and with the proper controls it should not be any less safe than L.A. batteries. You hear stories of laptop fires, but when put into perspective it's not an issue if handled properly.
