Crown 30RCTT:
Foward/reverse contactors single and double trip

Unit will single and double trip the forward and reverse contactors. With both drive wheels off the ground it will not trip the contactors and run normal. This is a ev-1 system. I did notice with the steer tire straight ahead the right wheel turns a lot faster than the left. The left is harder to turn by hand with the brake released. The left drive motor does show signs of gear oil in the motor. Following the double trip troubleshooting chart after discharging the capacitor and connecting the battery the capacitor will charge to full battery volts and not 50% per the manual. Could this still be a 2 and 5 rec?

you should check all the suggested checks it says to check:
- 5rec for open circuit or open gate
- 1C for open and connections
- 1C for dead short
- 5rec for short
- 2rec for short
- check 1X choke and transformer T3-T4

and of course if all those check ok replace the control card

But one of the first things i would take care of is to fix that motor, oil can cause alot of issues with the insulation inside the motor so repair that problem then go back and recheck everything to narrow it down if the problem still exists.

When you discharged the Cap how was the spark? If it was weak cap could still be bad. With EV-1 system try 2 and 5 recs then go back to Cap because even with Handyman tester you can not test with full power.
