Industrial Vehicle Powertrain Technology Symposium 2019

Germany, Cologne - February 13 -14, 2019
Boost Efficiency. Achieve Future Emission Standards. Reduce CO2. Increase Fuel Economy. Improve Reliability

Following on from the enormous success of the Electric & Hybrid Industrial Vehicle Technology Symposium, the publisher of Industrial Vehicle Technology International magazine will host a new symposium in 2019 dedicated to exploring the latest and next-generation designs and technology for reducing CO2, meeting future industry emission targets, improving performance, and increasing reliability and productivity through more traditional heavy-duty ICE engines, transmissions and complete drivetrain solutions. Although we are already seeing hybrid and full-electric vehicles entering the industrial and off-highway vehicle market, it is clear that there are still further improvements, efficiency gains and advantages to using conventional heavy-duty diesel engines.

The symposium will also explore the latest and next-generation transmission and driveline technologies for further efficiency, performance and reliability gains.

Held alongside IVT Expo, the symposium will bring together senior-level engineers and R&D directors, industrial vehicle OEMs, Tier 1 & 2 suppliers, industrial vehicle engine designers and manufacturers, gearbox designers and manufacturers, component suppliers, emissions technology experts and research organizations. This is the perfect opportunity to find out about the latest and future industry trends and meet senior industry peers through our high-level networking events taking place across the two days. The symposium is held alongside a number of other highly targeted symposiums such as the Autonomous Industrial Vehicle Technology Symposium, the Electric & Hybrid Industrial Vehicle Technology Symposium and the Industrial Vehicle Cab Design & Technology Symposium. These events take place at the same time in Köln Messe and your conference pass will automatically give you entry to all of them, offering unprecedented access to over 120 presentations.

Topics under discussion will include:

- Ultra-low-emission powertrain design, configurations and technologies
- Efficiency gains from driveline design and technology
- Engine management systems
- Hydromechanical and continuously variable transmissions
- Hydrostatic transmissions
- Torque converters
- Lubrication
- Thermal management

Fact of the week
Bluetooth is named after the 10th-century Viking king, Harald Bluetooth, who united warring tribes in Denmark and Norway. In 1997, Jim Kardach from Intel gave the name to the technology because of its ability to unite different communication protocols, just as Harald united various tribes.
