A forklift was used to free the driver of a passenger bus that crashed last week.
An unnamed forklift operator came to the rescue after a Greyhound bus struck a median strip and careered into a ditch, the Mercury News reported.
The forklift was able to lift the mangled bus off its driver, James Scanlon, who was ejected from the cabin in the crash and pinned under the wreckage.
Scanlon emerged in critical condition and a passenger was seriously hurt, but 10 of the 23 passengers escaped with only superficial injuries.
