Australian locomotive manufacturer UGL has secured supply and maintenance projects worth around AUD108 million.
The new orders include the design and manufacture of 10 locomotives for Xstrata Coal and a 10-year maintenance program for these locomotives and a further 300 wagons.
CEO Richard Leupen says the orders underpin the company's position as Australia's leading provider of rolling stock products and services to the freight rail sector.
"UGL's rail business continues to benefit from increased investment in Australia's freight and bulk commodities markets," he says.
