Henk Van Diggele, general manager of Solid Plus, says the new division will provide much needed service and competition. |
A new division specialising in forklift and industrial tyre service launches across Australia this month, and will be exhibiting for the first time at materials handling exhibition Matex '08 in Sydney from 15-17 April.
Solid Plus, a division of wholesale tyre supplier Tyres4U, offers tyre fitting, pressing and puncture-proofing for forklifts and heavy machinery, mainly in the mining, supply chain and transport industries.
General manager Henk van Diggele tells Forkliftaction.com News that the impetus behind the establishment of Solid Plus is to provide the Australian industry with much-needed service and competition.
"We intend to be a breath of fresh air when it comes to service and professionalism," he says.
With 200 service providers signed up throughout Australia, and the back-up of the umbrella company's 14 warehouses located in every state of Australia, Solid Plus guarantees next-day service at the very least, and in most cities, same-day service.
"All our trucks are fitted with GPS, ensuring we can keep our clients up to date with the exact arrival of our services," says Van Diggele, adding that the company's motivated and technically trained staff are its greatest asset.
The company provides an online quoting system, and once the job is complete, the invoice is sent electronically via email to keep things streamlined and on track.
"We can provide a solution to every forklift in Australia through our commitment to service and a fair price through our multiple tyre brand options, including Continental, Watts and Advance.
"We can replace solid or radial and bias pneumatic tyres plus press-on-bands, and soon, an extensive selection of polyurethane wheels will be offered as well," he says.
Van Diggele, previously national commercial tyres sales manager for Tyres4U, sees open trade with China as the biggest challenge facing the industrial tyre market.
"We intend to meet this challenge by getting it right the first time for our customers," he concludes.
