In 1929, the R101 was the world's largest flying hydrogen-filled rigid airship, built in Britain as a civil airship for long-distance routes. It was 731 ft. (223 m) in length and 130 ft. (40 m) in diameter. It had two decks with cabins, two promenade decks, and an asbestos-insulated smoking room!
