INSIDE FORKLIFTACTION.COM

Given that we're at LogiMAT in Stuttgart, Germany, it's no surprise that this week's news has some European flavour. We will report back on the show itself next week, but the most significant news for the European equipment sector has probably been overlooked in the lead-up to the show.
The European Parliament last week passed the new EU Machinery Regulation. Final details will not be available until the legislation is published in the EU Official Journal in July. It will then enter into force 20 days later and start applying after 42 months - allowing plenty of time for the industry to implement the changes and for standardisers to produce or update the necessary harmonised standards.
As we often say, watch this space.
