While most of the media are focusing on the numbers of deaths and people quarantined in the face of the coronavirus crisis, for Chinese forklift manufacturers, the crunch will come next week. Many factories, which had been closed for New Year, have been kept shut by Chinese authorities keen to curb population movement.
Many Chinese forklift factories are set to re-open on Monday, but there are fears that migrant workers won't get back in time and disruptions to public transport may make it hard even for locals to get to work.
With much of the global forklift production coming out of China, any protracted production halt will have significant consequences, so we'll be monitoring the situation closely.
