|Forklift manufacturers in the United States will mark National Forklift Safety Day on June 12, with events in Washington DC and at factories and dealerships around the country.
This will be the fifth incarnation of the day which, many say, has become entrenched in materials handling.
Of course, every day should be forklift safety day, not just in the United States, but everywhere.
Obviously, commemorations like these are important, but creating a persistent atmosphere of vigilance and consideration is essential to ensure ongoing safety.
So, in the words of a long-forgotten TV cop many years ago, "let's be careful out there!"
