This week's newsletter is dominated by dealer news and it's a reminder of the importance of this segment.
Dealers are the glue which binds the materials handling industry. They are obviously the main conduit between the manufacturers and distributors, on the one hand, and the end-users on the other. And a good dealer is not only a source of product, but also an information disseminator. Dealers act as the eyes and ears of the manufacturers, and the smart ones learn as much as they can about the way equipment is used and pass that on to their suppliers. At the same time, they discover the tips and tricks of specific equipment from the manufacturers and help end-users get the most out of their purchases.
Yes, there are awards for dealer achievement - but the biggest reward is customer loyalty, and they only get that by doing the right thing by everyone in the supply chain.

| | | Advertisement | Advertise here | How logistics should be responding to ‘Brexit’ The UK’s decision to leave the EU has generated uncertainty across Europe. It will become necessary to calculate more closely the value of components that cross borders and are sub-assembled then finally assembled before being installed in the product. Why? Because, currently, there is no tax, customs duty or tariff on products or materials crossing internal EU borders; that will not automatically be the case after Brexit.
