Recently, we highlighted the mixed messages in the financial results of major players, and this week, the signals remain varied.
There were some significant announcements in the US since our last recap, and the market seems somewhat subdued. And on the international front, those companies heavily exposed to North American markets are also negatively impacted by slow growth in that region - particularly in some industry sectors.
Again, the financial results show the benefits of spreading risk - both by geography and by industry vertical.
As an aside, it is unfortunate that we don't get as much financial disclosure from Asia, especially China and Japan, and from the UK. One suspects the stories may be somewhat different in some of those markets.

| | | Advertisement | Advertise here | Looking for a better way to separate your people and plant? Today’s workplace has become frantic. With
ever-increasing pressure to remain competitive in the global marketplace, we need to get jobs finished and out the door sooner. The bulk of workplaces rely on human effort to assemble, count, move and process a variety of goods. The tendency to work at a faster pace can increase the risk of making mistakes. Unfortunately, when it comes to people inadvertently walking into the path of a moving vehicle, or a driver not seeing a pedestrian in the vicinity, there is often never a second chance.
In an attempt to separate people and plant, marked walkways go some of the way to improve safety but compliance is not assured and the boundaries easily breached. It would be ideal if pedestrians and vehicles could be wrapped in protective bubbles to avoid injury in event of collision between. Though this is not practical, Orbit Communications may be able to offer you the next best thing - a virtual and invisible safety “bubble” that helps keep your people and vehicles apart.
Orbit’s BodyGuard i-Tag system is a pedestrian detection and warning system that provides an adjustable sized safety exclusion area around your vehicles to keep people and plant apart.
To learn more about the BodyGuard i-Tag system, send us an send an email or visit the ShopFront.
