With energy costs high - and rising, there’s a strong focus on fuel efficiency. This is leading to innovative equipment designs, advances in engine development and a range of alternative and hybrid fuel options.
But real energy efficiency comes from operational efficiency and we wonder how many fleet operators take the time to train drivers on “smart” driving. Simple things like smooth acceleration, eliminating unnecessary idling and thoughtful operation can be just as effective as replacing equipment. And it’s cheaper and easier to implement. So maybe for some, it’s time to think before putting your foot down.
