Inside Contact the Forkliftaction team
There are some home truths about forklift safety in Danny Maron’s Safety First column this week. Most importantly, safety training is not just academic. Everyone needs to remember that there are lives at stake - and while forklifts can cause damage that’s disruptive, they can also kill and maim. We often overlook the risks and many organisations see training as a burden. They probably just have to speak to management at a site which has had a forklift-related fatality to realise the real value of thorough training and a stringent safety regime. So let’s be safe out there.

"Would it not be a better solution to have something like a clamp on the forklift or a pallet inverter and a bouncer and squeezer to get them all back into alignment?".
andrew_j, United States
"What, if any, software/web-service do you use to track forklift operator certifications. In the USA, appropriate records are required by OSHA. I'd also like to know what is being done in other countries to keep records available and current. Thank you.".
joe_m, United States
"One little bit of advise I would give is don't always go on price on big trucks like these. The service side is much more important than the truck's price - so make sure that whoever you went with knew the machines and could offer you good service back up .".
