Inside Contact the Forkliftaction team
This week’s newsletter includes a couple of stories about port equipment, one of the cornerstones of materials handling growth. Even at the height of the recession, large orders were delivered - partly due to the long lead times on port equipment. But another factor has been growing global freight movements, leading to expansions of port facilities on all continents. So while manufacturing and consumer activity may rise and fall, thank goodness for the port market which has been a mainstay of the equipment sector - and looks set to remain one for some time.

"Can anyone tell me some dealers/service companies for larger FLT's in the U.K. I already know Cooper SH and Sleabond.".

"A guardrail system that meets OSHA specifications is sufficient fall protection. I do not recommend the use of safety harnesses/body belts and lanyards for fall protection on counterbalanced forklift work platforms as they pose a potential forklift stability hazard. The dynamic forces imposed by these devices from deceleration and body pendulum action in a fall from an elevated counterbalanced forklift work platform could result in forklift tip over.".
    joseph_h, United States
"The manual also says the LED should not be flashing. In my experiences I have found AL10 with flashing LED to be a battery or cable issue, or voltage drop at controller B+. If controller doesn't get battery voltage on start up it will drop out.".
