A Birmingham area branch of forklift dealer Yale Carolinas Inc is moving about 20 miles (32 km) into a larger office and warehouse space and expects to add employees.

"We just moved in," says Matthew McIntyre, branch manager.

The new location on Oxmoor Road, Birmingham, occupies 21,480 sqft. (1,933 sqm). The previous site was 18,500 sqft. (1,665 sqm) on Amber Hills Road in Trussville, a municipality east of Alabama's largest city.

The branch employs 25 people and may add at least six positions.

In another relocation, the Yale Carolinas branch in Knoxville, Tennessee, moved in early September.

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Yale Carolinas has 10 branches - four in Alabama, three in Tennessee, two in North Carolina and one in Georgia. The dealership also serves parts of South Carolina and Virginia. Yale Carolinas represents the Yale, Big Joe, Bendi, Drexel and Combilift forklift brands.
