Chinese reach stacker arrives in Tanzania. Pic: Xinhua/Lin GuangyaoChinese materials handling equipment manufacturer LiuGong Machinery, has delivered an electric reach stacker to a customer in Tanzania.
Chinese state-run media outlet Xinhua reports the reach stacker was delivered to Azam Inland Container Depot in Dar es Salaam recently. Azam Inland Container Depot is a subsidiary of food and beverage manufacturer Bakhresa Group.
Local media is referring to the delivery as marking “the entry and operational debut of this new-energy logistics equipment in the Tanzanian market”.
The investment in the more eco-friendly machinery is being described by Bakhresa Group CEO Ali Mukadam, as an investment in sustainable growth and operational excellence.
“By adopting green technology, we are enhancing productivity and safety while reducing emissions and energy consumption,” Mukadam is quoted by Xinhua as saying.
LiuGong Machinery’s sales manager for Africa, Li Yu, adds the introduction of the electric reach stacker is a significant step in advancing green logistics solutions in Africa.
Xinhua reports LuiGong Machinery has already deployed Chinese-made electric excavators, wheel loaders and mining trucks within Africa, supporting the region's shift toward low-carbon development.
