Materials handling equipment maker Jungheinrich and South African storage solutions provider Acrow Racking & Shelving have been confirmed as the two platinum sponsors for the highly anticipated Forklift Driving Competition to be held at the Electra Mining Africa event later this year.

Electra Mining Africa is the continent’s largest mining, industrial and electrical trade show and is held in Johannesburg biennially. The 2026 Electra Mining Africa event will be held September 7-11, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre.

Entry to the forklift championship is open anyone with a valid forklift driver’s licence and will test participants through a series of practical and technical challenges which simulate real-world operating conditions. 

Competitors will be judged on accuracy, efficiency, safety compliance, and overall handling ability with cash prizes up for grabs to the winners.

“This premier competition will bring together some of the most skilled and experienced forklift operators from across South Africa and the broader African continent.
