Essentially, it's a Rule System
A lot of people still imagine automation as a fully unmanned environment. But one customer in the U.S. said something that I think describes the real situation much better. He told me, “If this system can’t work together with people, it won’t survive in our factory.” And honestly, that’s the core issue. Automation in real factories does not operate alone.
It has to coexist with people, forklifts, equipment, and constantly changing environments.
If you think about real-world traffic systems, the reason cities don’t collapse into chaos is because there are unified rules. Traffic lights. Lane priorities. Crosswalks. Right-of-way. Those rules are not decided individually. They are systemically managed.
Robot Applications in Multiple Scenarios
But factories are often very different. People move based on experience. Forklifts move based on habit. Robots follow predefined paths. Everything works fine when complexity is low. But once traffic density increases, conflicts start appearing. Path conflicts. Congestion. Priority conflicts. And without unified rules, all coordination falls back to people.
The MHI report describes this through the concept of human-in-the-loop, meaning automation must collaborate with people rather than completely replace them. But collaboration does not happen automatically. It requires system-level rules.
So when SEER Robotics faces this type of scenario, the key focus is not simply adding robots. It’s building a unified operational rule system through the Fleet management system.
You can think about it almost like Google Maps inside a factory. Every robot operates on the same live map. The system continuously calculates congestion, priorities, path availability, and traffic flow. Which robot moves first. Which robot waits. Which path is optimal.
