Remembering Edward J Sperr News Story - 18 Aug 2011 ( #527 ) - Roswell, GA, United States 1 min read A memorial for the late Edward J Sperr is scheduled from 6-8 pm on Friday, 19 August at the Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, in Roswell.Sperr, 84, of Alpharetta, Georgia, a retired forklift industry dealer, executive and mentor, died on 6 August.Sperr worked for more than 20 years at Clark Equipment Company and then became president of the Clarklift of Atlanta dealership for another 25 years until his retirement.A former associate commented: "One of the best from the old Clark family is with us no longer".Sperr served with the US Navy Air Corps during World War II as a bombardier and navigator aboard Catalina patrol bombers, known as flying boats. He received an engineering degree with a major in mining from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.Sperr was an active member of the Atlanta Athletic Club, the Masonic Temple and the Roswell Presbyterian Church, where a private service is planned.He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Louise Sperr, in December 2005. Survivors include four children and five grandchildren.Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Shriners Children's Hospitals.
