Riekes Equipment is celebrating 90 years

Nebraska-based materials handling equipment distributor Riekes Equipment, is this year marking its 90th anniversary.

The business was established to provide materials handling equipment for its bottling factories when no outside provider could be found. It now operates in seven locations across six states in the US.

“When I joined Riekes in 1984, we had a strong foundation and a clear sense of purpose,” says president Duncan Murphy.

“Over the years, we’ve grown in size and capability, but what has remained constant is our commitment to doing the right thing for our customers and our people. That mindset is what has carried us for 90 years and what will carry us forward.”

Riekes is a dealer for Hyster, Yale, Combilift, Drexel, Bendi, Task and Sellick selling, leasing and servicing forklifts, aerial platforms, pallet trucks and attachments.

Meanwhile, North Carolina-headquartered distributor Carolina Handling, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

Founded in North Carolina in 1966, Carolina Handling has evolved has from a forklift-only provider to an integrated materials handling solutions business.

The exclusive Raymond Solutions dealer for North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida, Carolina Handling says it has a 99% customer retention rate.

In 2025, the business opened a new 264,544 sqft. (24577sqm) facility in Pickens County, South Carolina, combining the warehouse and office space from four facilities in the Upstate region of South Carolina under one roof.

Carolina Handling president and CEO Brent Hillabrand says the 60th anniversary milestone “reflects the strength and quality of the company’s associates”.
