PSA Antwerp, the largest terminal operator in the port of Antwerp, has ordered a Sany reach stacker from Mertens Heftruck Service (MHS).
The order value is confidential and is the first reach stacker order from the port for MHS. The reach stacker has a 45 T capacity in the first row and 35 T in the second row. It will be used for container and general cargo handling.
PSA Antwerp says it chose Sany because of its excellent price-performance ratio. "Our last doubts vanished after a visit to the assembly hall of Sany in Bedburg, Germany. The next generation of reach stackers will not be built in China, but in Bedburg, close to Cologne. [The] central spare parts warehouse and the headquarters for Europe [is also located there]. "
MHS, which is located near the port of Antwerp, will provide after-sales support. The company, founded in 2005, became the exclusive dealer for Sany port equipment in Belgium and Luxembourg in 2012

MHS owner Jeroen Mertens says his company has sold "several different [Sany] machines" to its clients and expects to sell a few more in 2013.
The Sany Group, founded in 1989, has grown into one of China's largest equipment manufacturers. Its new European headquarters in Bedburg boasts a 10,000 sqm (107,6389 sqft.) assembly facility which produces Sany machinery with the "Made in Germany" stamp.
