Patricks orders 22 electric machinesFinnish equipment maker Kalmar reports it has secured an order for 10 hybrid straddle carriers and 12 hybrid AutoStrad machines from Australia’s Patrick Terminals.
The hybrid straddle carriers will be deployed at Patrick’s Melbourne terminal, with the AutoStrads to be deployed at its Sydney terminal.
Patrick Terminals is Australia's leading container terminal operator, handling more than 3.5 million TEU annually.
The order was booked in Kalmar's Q2 2026 order intake, with delivery scheduled to be completed during Q2 of 2027.
Patrick Terminals says the investment in the hybrid machines helps it to further its decarbonisation and low-emissions ambitions.
Michael Jovicic, CEO, Patrick Terminals says: “This order represents a further step in the 10-year strategic partnership between Kalmar and Patrick Terminals. The Kalmar AutoStrad plays an important role in operations at our Brisbane and Sydney terminals.”
Karri Keskinen, head of Oceania with Kalmar adds: “We are incredibly proud to see our newly formed strategic partnership materialize so quickly into active fleet expansion.”
