Hyster appoints new distributor in Turkey
Istanbul, TurkeyHyster has appointed Cukurova Ziraat AS as its new distributor in the Republic of Turkey.
Cukurova Ziraat has invested in a new showroom, workshop and spare parts facility in Istanbul to meet its obligations as a Hyster distributor. It will provide sales and service for the full range of Hyster materials handling equipment. The company has a national team of service engineers with service vans to conduct field product support.
Cukurova Ziraat has 49 years' experience as a construction and road-building equipment dealer in Turkey.
Russia orders more Kalmar straddle carriers
St Petersburg, RussiaRussia's leading container terminal operator National Container Company (NCC) has ordered five 7+ generation Kalmar CSC340 straddle carriers that will be deployed at First Container Terminal (FCT) in St Petersburg.
NCC cites its good experience with existing Kalmar straddle carriers as the main reason for the order. The new CSC340 units can stack containers one-over-two with loads of up to 40 tonnes.
FCT received its first straddle carrier from Cargotec in the 1980s. NCC also operates other types of Kalmar equipment, like terminal tractors, reach stackers and empty container handlers.
The order's value is confidential.
Albis CEO shares vision on active RFID
Zürich, SwitzerlandAlbis Technologies CEO Salvatore Di Pietro presented his vision for active RFID at ID World Abu Dhabi's exclusive CEO Vision Panel on Monday.
As the panel's RFID advocate, Di Pietro discussed factors that drive innovation in the sector and drew on his company's Zone Monitoring & Find (ZOMOFI) Division's expertise in developing active RFID solutions to suit specific applications and environments.
Products in Albis's ZOMOFI portfolio locate and track objects and people in real-time. They include products to manage containers and load carriers in the business process sector and track and manage railway cars.
ID World Abu Dhabi 2011 was hosted for the fourth time on 3-4 April in the United Arab Emirates.
Experts to converge at forum
Stuttgart, GermanyAbout 800 experts from 20 countries are expected to meet at the f-cell 2011 fuel cell forum in Stuttgart on 26-27 September.
F-cell visitors can view a trade fair with about 50 renowned exhibitors and hear 70 lectures from international experts, including fuel cell researcher Professor Masahiro Watanabe, from the University of Yamanashi.
The event's theme is "Mobile applications - fuel cells and batteries moving the future".
