Police arrest forklift operator after fatal crash

Police have charged a forklift driver after a fatal accident.
Ulises Mondragon Umanzor has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving without a license after a collision between a forklift and a convertible on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
According to reports, the forks of the construction vehicle, allegedly driven by Umanzor, had been sticking out into traffic when a black Mercedes Benz convertible collided with them. The driver of the car was pronounced dead after being taken to Broward Health Medical Centre.
Witnesses said the forklift operator initially left for a nearby construction site before returning and cooperating with police.
