Factory worker dies in accident

WorkSafe is investigating an accident at a Clayton factory in which a man in his 70s fell to his death.

The man was working inside a makeshift cage attached to a forklift when it came off the tines and fell four metres to the ground.

Victoria Police confirmed that the man was declared deceased at the scene, and they will prepare a report for the coroner.

This fatality brings the number of workplace deaths this year to 10.
