The forklift used in the attack
A French government minister had to be evacuated last week when protesters smashed through the main gate of the ministry in Paris using a forklift truck during the latest "yellow vest" street demonstrations.

The incident at the Ministry for Relations with Parliament on Rue de Grenelle in central Paris occurred on Saturday afternoon after violence flared in parts of the city during the protests.

A video shared on social media shows an individual driving the forklift at speed towards the gates with another person standing on the back. A small crowd cheered as the gates were rammed open.

Ministry officials hope their internal CCTV cameras will identify those responsible "so they can be punished".

The video can be seen here.
