The cadets come from a diverse range of occupational backgrounds, including customer service, engineering, transport, mining, nursing and the military.
Nine women from a variety of backgrounds are taking part in a two-year WILpower (Women in Logistics) management cadetship program as part of Asciano’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the Australian stevedoring and logistics industry.

The program provides women with the opportunity to develop the skills required to be considered for operational leadership roles.

The cadets come from a diverse range of occupational backgrounds, including customer service, engineering, transport, mining, nursing and the military and will embark on two years of hands-on experience, moving through various operational roles in Patrick’s Terminals & Logistics Division to develop the skills for leadership positions.

The WILpower program was highly commended in the Chairman’s Award at the Transport & Logistics Industry Skills Council (TLISC ) 2015 awards held in Melbourne last month.
