Decker Forklifts Inc is adding large-volume equipment to its rental fleet for in-plant movement of heavy machinery, production steel and specialised manufacturing.

"When companies grow out of space and move to new locations, they need the extra forklifts to move inventory and equipment," says Andy Decker, owner and president.

For the 20,000 lb. (9,000 kg) and 40,000 lb. (18,000 kg) lifting-capacity requirements, Decker is acquiring an unspecified number of forklifts from Hoist Liftruck Manufacturing Inc of Bedford Park, Illinois and Taylor Machine Works Inc of Louisville, Mississippi. Terms were not disclosed.

Decker Forklifts reports a 4% sales gain for the first eight months of 2011 and projects that growth rate continuing through December.

The business added natural stone and tile products distributor Stoneworks Ltd Inc of Bedford Heights as a customer in early 2011. "They always have what I need" in terms of heavy-duty-equipment rentals, says Mike Biesei, warehouse and facilities manager.

Decker Forklifts has a rental fleet of about 400 forklifts and consolidated operations in an early 2011 move to Bedford Heights (Forkliftaction.com News #512).

In addition to forklifts, Decker rents aerial and scissor lifts and operates as a national wholesale buyer and reseller of new and used forklifts. Decker Forklifts also uses commercial storage facilities in Greenville, South Carolina; Laredo, Texas; Vernon, California; Querétaro, Mexico; and Bremen, Germany.
