A Chinese couple celebrated their wedding day with a forklift parade in their home town of Xintai in Hebei province.

Kong Qingyang and Shen Likun met when Kong, a forklift driver, bought a forklift from Shen, a forklift salesperson, China Daily reported.

They thought it would be fitting to use a forklift as their wedding vehicle. The couple's brightly decorated forklift was followed by a fleet of suitably decorated forklifts.

En route to the wedding, the pair stood in the front basket and threw lollies to onlookers.

The blushing bride said: "I love him (Kong) as a person. No matter what vehicle he picks me up in, I would marry him. I will remember this parade forever."
