Bahrain's Khalifa bin Salman Port has a new reach stackerA new electric reach stacker has been deployed at the Khalifa bin Salman Port (KBSP), replacing a diesel unit which port operators, APM Terminals, says will mean a CO2 emissions reduction of as much as 144T annually.
The reach stacker has a load capacity of 45T and has been designed to keep cargo moving without interruption, strengthening day-to-day operational reliability and supporting more predictable vessel and truck flows.
The manufacturer of the reach stacker is Sany.
The reach stacker is powered by 507 kWh battery supporting 10 to 12 hours of continuous operation without charging, with dual-gun fast charging reaching 95% in two hours.
It includes 360-degree safety cameras which improve visibility, supporting safer and smoother operations and an ergonomic cabin for operator comfort.
