Ran Makavy has been appointed to the board of directors of US-based autonomous vehicle developer Cyngn.
Makavy has been a founder, operator and investor in technology for 30 years, having founded tech start-up Snap in 2007 which he then sold to Facebook in 2011. That same year he became director of product management with Facebook and stayed in the role for four years before joining ride-share platform Lyft, where he helped scale the large technology business through high-growth phases.
Cyngn, which is expanding commercial deployments and utilisation of its autonomous vehicle solutions, states Makavy’s experience scaling software platforms and operationalising growth systems aligns with the company’s current stage of execution and expansion.
“Ran has scaled growth and platform teams at global technology companies and knows how to convert product strength into adoption,” says Lior Tal, CEO of Cyngn. “As we expand deployments and increase utilisation, his perspective and operating rigour will be mission-critical for Cyngn.”
Makavy replaces Colleen Cunningham who departed at the end of last year.

Materials handling equipment parts and accessories manufacturer TVH Americas, has appointed Haylee Kelly to the position of vice president people Americas.
Kelley brings more than 25 years of human resources experience to her role, across a diverse range of sectors including supply chain, employee relations and talent management.
She has previously worked with Hallmark for 20 years where she rose to the position of vice president of HR and, most recently, was the chief people officer at Smart Warehousing, where she spearheaded a successful human resources strategy with a heavy focus on talent development and organisational culture.
In her position with TVH Americas, part of Belgian-headquartered TVH Parts Holding, Kelley will “focus on fostering a culture of empowerment and ensuring team members have the necessary environment and tools to translate potential into high-level performance”.

Materials handling equipment lithium battery producer Eneroc USA has named Mark D’Amato as its new vice president of sales for North America.
A prominent figure in the lithium-based motive power space, D’Amato has previously worked with well-known brands including OneCharge, RoyPow, and Green Cube, having started his career in materials handling in 1983.
D’Amato is expected to help drive Eneroc’s growth and strengthen its customer and dealer relationships across the US.
