Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks to supply new fleetEuropean technology distributor Westcoast, has invested in a new fleet of Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks for its Milton Keynes distribution centre with delivery expected in early 2026.
While not disclosing the volume of equipment purchased under the deal, Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks says this is the fourth Westcoast site to choose its forklifts and this latest order will include a range of specialist equipment tailored to the Milton Keynes site’s operational requirements.
Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks says what started as an initial inquiry has evolved into a trusted partnership with the company maintaining a weekly presence at Westcoast sites for the last two years, “ensuring constant communication and a smooth transition as the distributor modernises its materials handling fleet”.
“The specialist design of trucks offered the opportunity to reduce costs and improve efficiency, while the consultative approach provided genuine added value,” Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks states.
Jay Bamrah, territory sales manager for Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks, explains he worked closely with the site manager at Milton Keynes to create bespoke specifications for the new fleet.
The solution included reach trucks, high-level order pickers, low-level order pickers, very-narrow aisle forklifts, counterbalance forklifts with clamp attachments for handling white goods, and wide straddle stackers for versatile materials handling.
“We didn't just replace like-for-like,” Bamrah continues. “We took measurements around the site, discussed their specific challenges, and worked through different controller options, safety systems, and specifications until we got exactly what they needed.
“For the first time, their trucks are truly custom-made for their operation.”
Simon Ralph, operations director of Westcoast adds: “Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks have proven to be more than just a supplier, they're a genuine partner in our operations”.
“Their willingness to create bespoke solutions and maintain consistent communication has been invaluable as we've expanded," Ralph says.
