LiuGong North America has launched its battery-electric materials handling portfolio into the North American market, which it says has been refined after multiple generations of deployment across a wide range of sectors.

The new portfolio includes 14 battery-electric forklifts with capacities from 3,200 lbs. (1,4500kg) to 15,400 lbs. (7,000kg), along with an expanded portfolio of warehouse equipment including LRSE4531E electric reach stacker which has a capacity of 99,208 lbs. (45,000kg).

In addition, a complete line of battery-electric aerial work platforms is being introduced into the Canadian market.

A subsidiary of Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co, LuiGong has been operating in North America since 2008, with the company saying this is its largest battery-electric materials handling launch for the North American market. 

“Rather than introducing first-generation electric products, these machines are built on a battery-electric platform supported by more than 60,000 electric machines operating globally and millions of commercial operating hours,” a spokesperson for LuiGong tells Forkliftaction News.

“One LiuGong battery-electric wheel loader alone has surpassed 20,000 operating hours in production service, providing valuable long-term validation of the platform's durability.”

These real-world deployments have provided an enormous level of operational data which LiuGong says has been used to drive continuous improvements in battery performance, charging systems, thermal management, diagnostics, serviceability, and long-term durability. 

LiuGong's initial North American battery-electric portfolio includes the 856HE battery-electric wheel loader, 820TE battery-electric loader, and LRSE4531E fully electric 45T reach stacker.

“This initial lineup marks the beginning of a broader North American rollout, with additional battery-electric products expected throughout 2027 as LiuGong continues expanding and validating its electric equipment portfolio for the region,” the business states.
