LuiGong has moved into the AWP market

LuiGong North America has launched 12 new electric aerial work platforms (AWP) onto the market, marking what it says is “a significant expansion into one of the fastest-growing segments of the equipment market”.

The line-up, which spans compact scissor lifts to high-reach articulating boom lifts, is now available across Canada, Mexico and Central America through LiuGong’s authorised dealer network.

A spokesperson for LuiGong says they will not be available in the US “due to tariffs”.

LuiGong North America says the new AWP portfolio is purpose-built for rental companies, contractors, and fleet operators, and delivers lithium-powered performance, advanced safety systems, and simplified serviceability, at a price point designed to accelerate fleet electrification without the cost burden of traditional Tier 1 manufacturers.

A subsidiary of Chinese equipment manufacturer LuiGong, LuiGong North America says it is entering the AWP market with a fully formed product strategy.

The range includes: six electric scissor lifts with working heights between 25 ft. (7.6m) and 52 ft. (16m); and six boom lifts with working heights of 58 ft. (17.7m) to 78 ft. (23.8m).

“The North American market isn’t asking if electric is coming, it’s asking how fast it can scale,” says Andrew Ryan, president, LiuGong North America. “This launch is part of our answer.

“We’re delivering a complete electric line-up that meet the performance and safety expectations of the market, while fundamentally improving the economics for our dealers and rental partners.

“This isn’t a pilot program or a niche offering. This is a long-term commitment to the North American market and to the partners who are growing with us.”

Meanwhile, Monticello Equipment Rental has been named as an authorised forklift dealer for LuiGong North America, expanding the Chinese company’s materials handling equipment access across New York.

Monticello Equipment, will offer LiuGong forklifts for sale and rent, as well as offering full-service support, strengthening equipment availability for contractors and industrial operations throughout the region.

Jared Ward, vice president of material handling sales, LiuGong North America, says the addition of Monticello Equipment to its dealer network, supports its growth strategy for North America.

“We are excited to welcome Monticello Equipment to the LiuGong dealer network,” Ward adds. “Their strong customer focus and service capabilities make them an ideal partner as we continue expanding access to reliable, high-performance forklift solutions across the US.”

Monticello Equipment Rental was founded in 2000 and is also a dealer for Develon, STIHL, Truper and Wacker Neuson.
