As a core sector of high-end manufacturing, the semiconductor industry drives global technological progress. A leading Chinese semiconductor equipment provider focused on integrated circuit solutions sought to upgrade internal logistics to boost competitiveness amid diverse, small-batch production and volatile order demands.
The company partnered with Linde Automation to replace inefficient manual warehousing—plagued by low productivity, high errors, and complex management—with a tailored smart logistics system, setting a benchmark for flexible automation in the semiconductor sector.
Flexible, Multi-Scenario Smart Warehousing
Linde designed three integrated solutions: CTU bin-to-person storage, AMR rack-to-person storage, and stacker crane automated warehouse, supported by a full software suite (WMS, WES, WCS, RCS).
Material bin to personnel storage area
The bin-to-person storage area is equipped with multiple double-deep Linde bin handling robots, which move freely between narrow aisles and shelves to complete the loading and unloading of bins, and can store more than 30,000 standard bins. Compared with traditional manual warehouses, the operation efficiency is increased by 80% and the space utilization rate is increased by 230%.
Shelf-to-person storage area
In the shelving-to-person storage area, multiple Linde stealth robots are in operation. When there is a need to store or retrieve goods, the stealth robots lift the shelves and quickly and accurately deliver the target shelf to the designated area. Compared to traditional manual warehouses, operational efficiency is increased by 50%, and space utilization is increased by 100%.
Stacker crane solution
In addition to the two intelligent warehousing models mentioned above, the company also adopted Linde's stacker crane automated warehouse. Based on the on-site logistics planning, the combination of hardware and software can achieve a storage capacity of more than 3,000 pallets, fully realizing the automated operation of the entire process from goods entering, conveying, warehousing to outbound. Compared with traditional automated warehouses, work efficiency is increased by 60% and space utilization is increased by 80%.
The intelligent system dynamically schedules robots, updates data in real time, and streamlines picking. It maximizes space, cuts handling time, raises accuracy, and lowers labor costs.
Going forward, Linde will keep innovating to deliver flexible, efficient internal logistics solutions for semiconductor enterprises, accelerate smart manufacturing, and advance the industry’s intelligent warehousing era.
