I’m Anthony Cooper, and I serve as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Application Engineering. My experience at Green Cubes has shaped both my career and my outlook on innovation, community, and the true meaning of progress.

Four decades ago, Green Cubes Technology started as a small operation with a clear mission: to power the world efficiently and responsibly. At this monumental anniversary, I find myself reflecting on how we’ve stayed true to those original values while constantly reinventing ourselves for the future.

When I joined Green Cubes 14 years back, we were at a turning point. The industry was shifting, and we knew we needed to lead that change. Shortly after I came aboard, we launched the Lithium SAFEFlex product line—the innovation that would set a new standard for industrial battery packs and put Green Cubes firmly on the map as a leader in sustainable energy solutions for material handling equipment.

Taking the Leap: SAFEFlex and the Move to Lithium-Ion

Back in those days, lead-acid batteries were standard in warehouses, distribution centers, and material-handling facilities. While they did the job and didn’t have the emissions concerns that combustion engines brought indoors, they did bring all sorts of headaches: constant maintenance, unpredictable performance, and other environmental concerns. I remember countless conversations with customers about downtime, high replacement costs, and the disruptions they faced because of outdated battery technology.

The introduction of our Lithium SAFEFlex line was a game changer for both our customers and our company. SAFEFlex wasn’t just another product—it represented a leap towards more efficient, sustainable, and reliable power for modern fleets. Its innovative design and robust performance stemmed directly from the creative minds and problem-solving spirit of our engineering team. These are folks who thrive on challenges and constantly find better solutions, and I’m proud every day to work alongside them.

The Real Value: Efficiency, ROI, and Savings

Every day, I talk to businesses considering the switch from lead-acid to lithium-ion for their forklifts. My advice is always this: while there is an initial investment, the long-term benefits are impossible to ignore.

First, there’s operational efficiency. Unlike lead-acid batteries, which can lose steam before the shift is over, lithium-ion packs like SAFEFlex deliver consistent energy all day. “Opportunity charging” lets operators plug in during short breaks—no more hours lost waiting for a full recharge or worrying about cool-down periods.

For businesses, this means less downtime and more output from each truck. Many of our customers realize they don’t need to keep as many costly spares on hand, and they free up valuable warehouse space once used for battery storage and swapping.

Next, let’s talk about return on investment. SAFEFlex batteries routinely last well over 3,000 charge cycles—roughly three times the lifespan of most lead-acid batteries in heavy use. Our customers’ running even the most demanding multi-shift operations often see the switch to lithium-ion paying for itself in as little as two to three years.

Maintenance is another area where the savings truly add up. Lead-acid batteries are notorious for their upkeep requirements—watering, cleaning, equalizing, and the occasional mishap that throws a wrench into production. With SAFEFlex and our advanced battery management systems, nearly all of that disappears. The technology handles charging, health monitoring, and even sends out alerts if something needs attention. That means less labor, fewer safety risks, and more focus on getting the job done right.
