Konecranes receives order for Noell straddle carriersKonecranes reports a new order for eight hybrid Noell NSC 644 EHY straddle carriers from German logistics and transportation specialists HHLA.
The order was received in Q4 2025 and the units are expected to be operational by the end of 2026, the materials handling equipment manufacturer states.
The eight new straddle carriers will be used for container transport between the quay and yard, and for stacking operations and land-side truck and rail handling.
They will replace older diesel-driven models performing the same tasks.
The new machines will be equipped with diesel generator sets and an onboard battery system, reducing emissions and lowering fuel consumption.
“This investment supports our long-term development plans for Container Terminal Tollerort,” says Ingo Witte, managing director, HHLA Container Terminal Tollerort GmbH.
Konecranes also reports it has a new order from CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal for six hybrid rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, to be for container handling at the Port of Valencia.
The order, booked in Q4 2025 and scheduled for delivery in December 2026, marks the second RTG order from CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal in 2025 as part of a modernisation and emissions reduction program.
Konecranes says the hybrid RTGs reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to conventional diesel-powered RTGs.
